Video Transfers
With the quality of today's digital technology, now is the best time for transferring
film to DVD!
Why Transfer? As film ages it becomes brittle, it can get lost or damaged,
and then copies cannot be made from your film for other family members.
Formats that can be transferred: 8mm, Super
8mm, 16mm. We also create photo montages from your photos, slides and
film.
Our Process: We provide the highest quality transfer of your precious
memories with state-of-the-art equipment. Synchronizing the frame rates
of film is also important to getting a good transfer. Commonly, after
film is transferred to video the image from the video will cause the TV
picture to "flicker." Our
process provides “film to video synchronization" for reduced
flicker.
The image is collected from the projector through the lens of
a professional 3 chip digital camera with 530 lines of TV resolution.
Then the camera output is fed through a firewire cable directly into
our editing system computer with no loss of quality. A custom title is produced
and some basic editing will be done to clean up the movie. In basic
editing the beginning leader is deleted & long sections of
overexposed or underexposed film is removed (if requested). All this for
a charge of only 14 cents
per film foot, which is $7 per 3" roll ( 50 feet of film.) We can also
provide custom editing for an additional charge
of $65.00 per hour. Next, the digitized film will be transferred to a
DVD (or for an extra fee, a Mini DV or Digital 8 master tape).
Optional: With custom
editing you can make decisions as to the order of the various
segments of your movie and you can cut out portions that you do not want
in your final production. First we will make a VHS copy with time code
numbers visible on the tape when played on a TV. These numbers match our
edit system. So, at your home you can make a list of the changes and then
we will make those changes in our system without losing any quality.
Our
Prices: Minimum per film transfer order is $60.00 and that includes 1
DVD. You will receive your originals back along with your new DVD. The DVD
comes in a Custom Album. Our price includes Free--basic
editing & titling
plus the DVD. We charge only $.14/foot for 8mm and Super 8mm Transfer.
Options: DVD Authoring with a menu. Each chapter $2.00. Additional DVD
copies $10 each. We can also provide a high quality Mini DV digital master
tape for preservation and backup. If you have a mini DV or Digital 8
camcorder and you specify that you want a mini DV or Digital 8 master
you can order digital tape. This is the best format to store the film
for archival preservation. Whenever you need an extra copy, just bring in
the master. Custom Editing $65/ hr. Film splicing $1 each splice. Background
Music of various styles added from our library @ $10 per 30 minutes.
Narration of your film @ $40 per production hour.
